The National Cannabis Prevention and Information Centre’s mission is to prevent and reduce the use of, and problems related to, cannabis in Australia.
About the Group

The Centre’s prevention and treatment goals will be achieved by providing the community, in particular young people, with high quality, evidence-based information on cannabis use, and by building the capacity of the treatment providers to respond to cannabis users and their families. The Centre was officially opened in 2008 and is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.

The Centre provides up-to-date, evidence-based interventions through:

·       A website

·       A helpline: 1800 30 40 50

·       Monthly ezines and regular bulletins

·       Free national clinical training

·       Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specific resources www.notourculture.org.au

·       Specialised projects and initiatives that address high-risk populations and behaviours
